■ The Opportunity
We are hiring a Senior Backend Engineer and we don‘t care which language you write today.
In the AI era, syntax is cheap. An engineer with strong backend fundamentals - system design, data modeling, testing discipline, production operations can become productive in a new language within weeks, especially with AI-assisted tooling.
So this position is language-agnostic by design. We evaluate you on core engineering skills, not familiarity with our current stack. If you‘ve built and operated serious backend systems in Java, Python, C#, PHP, Node.js, Elixir, or anything else - you‘re a candidate.
While our hiring process is language-agnostic, please note that our primary development stacks are Ruby on Rails and Golang. We support engineers in transitioning to these technologies if they are not already familiar.
■Job description
- Design, build, and operate backend services that power a leading B2B SaaS platform for the construction industry.
- Design clean, maintainable, and extensible software architecture.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks (query optimization, caching, async processing).
- Drive software quality through automated testing, code reviews, observability, and CI/CD practices.
- Review and validate AI-generated code to ensure maintainability, correctness, and security.
- Mentor engineers and raise the team‘s engineering bar
■Development environment
● Backend: Ruby (on Rails), Golang, Amazon Aurora (MySQL), DynamoDB
● FrontEnd: Nuxt.js, Vue.js, Next.js, ReactJS
● Mobile App: Kotlin, Swift, Flutter
● Deploy/ Build: AWS Amplify, CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CircleCI, GitHub Actions
● Others: Swagger, Docker, Figma, Confluence, JIRA, esa, gRPC

● Must-have:
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or related field (equivalent experience accepted); a Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: 5+ years of intensive experience in backend development, with a proven track record of designing, building, and deploying complex, large-scale, and high-traffic software systems (Any language: Go, RoR, Python, Java, C#, or Node.js).
- Critical use of AI coding tools: you use tools like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and Cursor to move faster, and you verify what they produce: checking for hallucinated APIs, security issues (injection, exposed secrets), architectural fit, and writing your own tests to validate the generated logic.
- Hands-on experience with observability platforms (Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus/Grafana).
- Business-level communication skills in Vietnamese and English (for daily collaboration with Japan HQ and documentation).
● Preferred:
- Experience with Go or Ruby (Rails) our current primary stacks.
- Microservices experience: service boundaries, gRPC/REST API design, message queues, distributed transaction patterns.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Ability to converse effectively with Frontend teams (React/TS) and DevOps teams (AWS/Kubernetes) to ensure end-to-end system reliability.
